Frequently Asked Questions

  • Currency Exchange Arts – LA is currently applying for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS. If approved, our tax-exempt status is expected to be retroactive to our incorporation date (7/26/26), meaning eligible donations made after that date are generally expected to be tax-deductible. We'll update our community as soon as our determination is received.

  • Your donation supports free exhibitions, artist residencies, workshops, community meals, and the everyday operations that keep our space open and accessible. Every gift directly supports artists and community programming.

  • We welcome many ways of supporting Currency Exchange Arts – LA, including:

    • Monetary donations of any amount.

    • In-kind donations such as art supplies, equipment, furniture, food for Community Feeds, printing, and professional services. Please contact us first so we can confirm our current needs.

    • Tribute gifts made in honor or memory of someone special.

    • Employer matching gifts. Many companies will match charitable contributions—check with your employer to see if they participate.

    • Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) grants. Once we receive our IRS determination, you'll be able to recommend grants from your DAF. If you'd like to support us before then, please reach out to discuss available options.

  • Absolutely! Whether you'd like to help with exhibitions, events, community meals, or behind-the-scenes projects, we'd love to have you involved. Reach out to learn about current opportunities.
